R B Confectionary

R B Confectionary is at 3501, Ranjitpura in Amritsar, which is very close to Khalsa College. Because we are near the college, we mostly sell things that students like—biscuits, chocolates, cold drinks, and plenty of snacks. We also keep bread and eggs for the local residents who live in the back lanes of Ranjitpura. The shop is small and can get very hot in the summer because of the refrigerators running all the time. I try to keep the glass counters clean, but with so many people coming in and out, there are always fingerprints. It’s a busy life. I start early to get the fresh bread delivery and the milk crates. Amritsar people love their food, so I have to make sure the snacks are always fresh and not sitting on the shelf for too long. Sometimes the electricity goes out and I worry about the cold drinks getting warm, but usually, it comes back soon. I don’t have a big staff, just me and a boy who helps with deliveries nearby. We don't do any big advertising. People just know we are here near the college. It’s a simple shop with a blue door. I've been here for years, and I’ve seen many batches of students come and go. It’s a nice way to earn a living, being in the middle of all that energy. We just keep things moving every day.
