Punjabi Jutti Emporium

Our shop, Punjabi Jutti Emporium, sits at No. 177 right by the Clock Tower, directly across from the Golden Temple. It’s a very busy part of town, as you can imagine. There’s a constant stream of people passing by our front door from early morning until late at night. Inside, the walls are lined with rows and rows of juttis. We’ve got all kinds, but we don't make a big deal about it. The leather smell is quite strong when you first walk in. We spend most of the day helping people try on different pairs to see what fits right. It’s a lot of bending down and putting things back on the shelves. The floor is a bit scuffed from all the foot traffic over the years. We aren't a big chain store, just a local spot that’s been here for a long time. Some days are so crowded we can barely move, and other days we just sit on the bench outside and watch the crowds go by. We don't do any fancy advertising or have a big social media presence. People find us because we’re right there in the middle of everything. It’s a simple life, selling footwear in such a historic spot. We just keep the doors open and try to be helpful to whoever wanders in. It's usually very noisy outside.
