Parmjit Singh Mahoora Architect

I am usually found over at the Department of Architecture at G.N.D. University. Being in an academic setting means there is always a lot of talk about how things used to be built and how they should be built now. I have been working as Parmjit Singh Mahoora Architect for quite some time, balancing the teaching side with actual design work. It keeps the mind sharp, I think. The office is often cluttered with student papers and my own project blueprints. It is not the most organized space, but I know where everything is. People come to me when they want something that makes sense. I do not go for those overly modern designs that do not work in our weather. I prefer things that last. Working within the university gives a different perspective than just having a shop on the high street. You see the new kids coming up with wild ideas, and then you apply the practical stuff you have learned over the years. My work is not about being the loudest in the room. It is more about the quiet details that make a building stay standing and keep the people inside comfortable. Sometimes I spend hours just looking at a single site map trying to see what the land is telling me. It is slow work, but I do not see any reason to rush it. If you are looking for someone who knows the area, that is what I do.
