Pal Paints

Our shop, Pal Paints, is located inside Jhee Manjil, right in the middle of Guru Ram Chowk Market. It’s a hectic spot to be in, especially with the petrol pump just around the corner and cars always zooming past. We’ve got stacks of cans everywhere and the smell of thinner is something we just live with now. People come in looking for specific shades for their walls or metal gates, and we spend a lot of time just shaking up tins and matching colors. It isn't a quiet job by any means. The market is loud, and there’s always someone shouting for a rickshaw or a delivery truck trying to squeeze through the narrow space. We keep the shelves as organized as we can, but when it gets busy, things tend to get a bit messy. It’s just me and a few guys helping out with the heavy lifting. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, but the demand for a fresh coat of paint seems to stay the same. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a practical workplace where we get our hands dirty and help folks pick out what they need for their homes. Most of our day is spent talking to regulars who know exactly where to find us in the market. We just keep our heads down and do the work without making too much of a fuss.
