Our place is located at number 41 in Gokal Nagar, right in the heart of the Main Bazar area in Amritsar. If you’ve ever been to the main bazar, you know how noisy and crowded it gets with all the shoppers and rickshaws. We are right in the thick of it. The shopfront is small, and the stairs leading up to our office are a bit narrow and steep. Inside, it’s a bit of a maze with boxes stacked up towards the ceiling. We do international trade, so we are always dealing with different types of products and shipping schedules. It’s a lot of hustle every day. Sometimes we have to shout to be heard over the noise from the street below. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a place to sit and have meetings with coffee. Usually, if someone visits, we just pull up an extra plastic chair and offer them some water or chai from the stall next door. We’ve been in this spot for quite a while, and we’ve seen the market change a lot. The work involves a lot of back-and-forth with customs and transport agents. It’s not always glamorous, and there’s always a bit of stress about deadlines, but we enjoy the energy of the bazar. We just try to get the orders out on time and keep the business moving along.
