Our office is right on the main G.T Road in Rayya, which is a busy spot in Amritsar. If you know the area, you know how much activity there is outside our door every single day. We are a mutual benefit Nidhi limited, which basically means we spend our time helping the members with their small savings and bits of financial help. It is not like those big banks in the city center. Here, we know the names of the people who walk in. The Punjab heat can be something else, so the office is a bit of a refuge when it is peaking outside. We have a lot of ledgers and computers that keep us occupied from morning until evening. Rayya is a good place to be because everyone passes through here on their way to Amritsar. You get to see all kinds of people from the nearby villages. We just keep our heads down and make sure the records are straight for everyone involved. It is a simple life in the office.
