Madan Karayana Store

Madan Karayana Store is located right by the Amritsar Bus Stand. We are directly opposite the church at Ram Bagh Chownk. Being in the 143001 area means there is always a lot of movement outside. Travelers are constantly coming and going from the bus stand, so it stays pretty loud throughout the day. I have been working here for a long time and I’ve seen the church across the way through all sorts of weather. Our shop is just a basic karyana store where we keep the essentials. We do not have any big signs or flashy lights. It is just a place to get what you need. Sometimes the buses block the view of the storefront, but locals know where we are. The routine is always the same, opening up early and closing once the sun goes down. Most of our customers are either people living nearby or folks waiting for their next bus who need a quick item. We have got bags of flour and pulses and all that kind of stuff stacked up. It is not a quiet spot by any means, but it is where we are. Dealing with the public at Ram Bagh Chownk keeps us busy enough. We just try to keep the shelves filled so we do not run out of the basics. That is pretty much how the day goes for us here at the store near the station.
