Ranjit Avenue is where we spend most of our days, specifically at House No.B-568. It is a quiet enough spot, which helps when you are trying to concentrate on floor plans or looking at site photos. I started this place a while back and mostly it is just about getting the drawings right and making sure things stand up. The office isn't anything fancy. It has got a few desks, some old computer monitors, and a lot of rolled-up blueprints that seem to multiply every week. Sometimes the doorbell rings and it is just a delivery, but often it is someone from the neighborhood wanting to know if they can add a room or fix a roof. We do a lot of that. Most mornings start with a cup of tea and a look at whatever project is currently on the table. It is not always exciting work, but it is steady. We spend a good amount of time on the phone with contractors or driving out to see how the brickwork is coming along. It gets dusty and loud on sites, so coming back to B-568 feels good. People around here know where to find us if they need a plan drawn up. We just keep our heads down and do the work as it comes in. It’s a small operation, really, just a few of us trying to keep things organized and making sure the measurements are actually correct before anything gets built.
