Jeevanjot Hospital

Jeevanjot Hospital is located at 13 Kamla Devi Avenue, just off the Fatehgarh Churian Road near the Amritsar GPO. It’s a nice area of Amritsar, a bit away from the heaviest traffic of the city center but still easy to get to. We’ve been here for a good number of years. The building used to be smaller, but we’ve made some changes over time to fit more beds and space for visitors. We see all kinds of patients, from kids with fevers to older folks needing long-term care. The staff is a mix of young nurses and older assistants who have been here forever. We don't have fancy leather chairs in the waiting room, just sturdy wooden ones that last. People usually come in because they live in the neighborhood or someone they know told them to come here. We try to keep things straightforward and honest about what we can do. The GPO is a good landmark if you’re trying to give directions to a taxi driver. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the birds outside in the trees. We just take the days as they come. It’s a lot of responsibility running a hospital, but we have a routine down. We focus on getting people back on their feet and home to their families. It’s a plain, honest place to get some medical help without a lot of fuss or ceremony.
