About Jeena Singh Architect – Architect, Interior & Structural Design in Amritsar
Jeena Singh works out of the office at A-9 on the Guru Nanak Dev University Campus. It’s a bit of a different environment being right there on the campus. You see students walking by all the time and there is a certain energy to the place. The office itself is pretty simple. We have the usual tools of the trade, drawing boards and computers. Most of the day is spent working through the details of various building projects. Since we are on the university grounds, it feels a bit more academic sometimes, but the work we do is very much for the real world. We talk to people about their houses or offices and try to put those ideas onto paper. It takes a lot of patience to get everything lined up correctly. Sometimes we have to redo a drawing three or four times because something changed or a new idea came up. That’s just part of being an architect. We keep a lot of books around for reference. The trees outside the window provide some nice shade during the hotter months when it gets really bright. It’s a quiet place to think and draw. We don’t have any fancy signs out front. People usually find us because they know the campus or they’ve heard about what we do from someone else. It’s a steady pace here at A-9 and we just keep plugging away at the plans. There is always something new to draw.
