H. K. Textile Engg Works

We've been here at Chheharta for a long time now. You can find us right across from the Uco Bank on G.T. Road. It's a busy spot but we like it here. My father started H. K. Textile Engg Works and now we just keep things running. We fix and make parts for the textile machines that everyone around here uses. It gets loud in the workshop sometimes. There’s always grease on someone’s hands and a lot of metal scraps on the floor by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just the tools and the machines we need to get the work done. People usually just drop by when they have a problem with their equipment. It’s mostly local folks from the area. Sometimes the traffic on G.T. Road makes it hard to get deliveries in, but we manage. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years. Some businesses closed down and new ones opened up, but we’re still here doing the same thing. It’s steady work. We don't spend money on big signs or flyers. Most people know where we are anyway. If you're coming down the main road, just look for the bank and we’re right there. We spend most of our time at the back where the heavy lathes are. It's a simple setup but it works for what we do. Nothing too complicated about it. Just daily work.
