You can find us on the first floor in Bazar Bakarwana, which is just inside the Mahan Singh Gate. It’s a very old part of town, and the streets are narrow and always full of people, carts, and the occasional cow. Our name is a bit of a mouthful, but it’s been that way for a long time. To get to us, you have to go up a narrow set of stairs that are a bit steep. Once you’re inside, it’s much quieter than the bazaar outside. We have shelves lining the walls and a few old wooden desks where we do our bookkeeping by hand mostly. It’s a traditional way of doing things, but it works for us. We sit on cushions sometimes or old chairs that have been here for decades. The light comes in through the small windows, and you can hear the calls of the vendors from below all day long. We drink a lot of tea and talk to the people who come in, many of whom have been coming to this same spot for years. It’s not a fast-paced corporate office; things move a bit more slowly here, and we like it that way. We focus on the daily transactions and keeping our records straight. It’s a bit dusty and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home to us after all this time.
