Deepti Bhatia Architect. You can find us at F7/575 on the first floor. It’s on Kashmir Avenue, right along Batala Road. Being on the first floor is nice because we can look down at the street without being right in the middle of the noise. The stairs are a bit steep, but you get used to them. Deepti is usually here from early morning. The office is full of folders and samples of granite and wood. We do a lot of interior work along with the structural stuff. Batala Road is always moving, so there is a constant hum of traffic outside. We have a few computers and a large format plotter that makes a lot of noise when it’s working. Most of our clients are local families looking to build their first home. We spend a lot of time explaining how things work and why certain things cost more than others. It’s a lot of education really. We drink a lot of tea to stay focused throughout the afternoon. The office isn't very big, but it’s ours. We’ve been at this location for several years now. It’s a familiar routine. We show up, we draw, we talk to clients, and then we do it all again the next day. It’s simple but it’s good work that keeps us busy. We like being part of the neighborhood here.
