Bhupinder Kumar Architect

My office is located at F-17/313 in Indira Colony, just off Majitha Road near the Khanna Nagar post office. It’s a familiar spot for many in this part of town. I’ve been an architect for a good number of years, and this office has seen a lot of plans come and go across the drafting board. It’s a simple space with plenty of light, which is exactly what I need for drawing. I don’t go for having a lot of bells and whistles. Most of the time, it’s just the sound of the fan overhead and me working through some structural details or site layouts. People stop in when they are ready to build, often with just a rough idea in their heads. We sit down and try to turn those ideas into something that can actually be built. It involves a lot of listening and a fair amount of measuring twice. I’ve lived and worked around here long enough to know the local styles and what the ground is like for foundations. I don't try to be anything I'm not. I’m just a local architect who knows how to get a set of plans ready for the municipal office and the contractors. It’s a steady life, and I enjoy the satisfaction of seeing a building finally stand up after being just a line on my paper for months. It’s honest work.
