You can find Varun’s office at 23B in Krishan Nagar, just off Lawrence Road. It’s a busy part of town, so there’s always something happening outside the window. The office is small but it works for what we need. We’ve got the computers set up and plenty of shelf space for all the building codes and catalogs we have to keep around. It’s mostly just Varun and a couple of helpers working on residential projects for folks in the area. We do a lot of sketches by hand first because it’s easier to talk through ideas that way. Once things are settled, then we move over to the software to get everything precise. There’s a lot of talk about budgets and materials, trying to find things that work without being too expensive. The phone rings a lot with people asking about permits or wanting to know when their drawings will be ready. We try to stay on top of it all, but some days are busier than others. It’s a lot of looking at tiny details on a screen until your eyes get tired. Sometimes we take a walk down Lawrence Road just to clear our heads. It’s honest work, and we’ve been at this address for a while now. There’s no big corporate vibe here, just a regular office where we draw up plans for people’s homes and buildings. It takes a lot of patience to get everything right.
