We set up our office at 154 A in Green Avenue. We are right there with Caliber Computers, so people usually look for their sign to find our door. It is a pretty basic setup for an architecture practice. We have our side of the space where the drawing happens and the computers are always making that low humming sound. Green Avenue is a nice place to be based and it has a good feel to the neighborhood. We are not a massive firm with dozens of employees. It is just a small operation where we handle everything by ourselves. This means that sometimes the trash does not get taken out right away and the files might be piled a bit too high on the floor. We focus more on getting the work done than on how the office looks to someone walking in. Most people who come to see us do not seem to mind anyway. They just want to look at their plans. We spend our mornings checking on emails and the afternoons usually involve some kind of debate over a measurement on a site plan. It is all part of the daily routine. We have been doing this for a long time and the way we work hasn't changed much. We show up, we draw, we talk, and we go home. It is not a glamorous life, but it works for us. Having the shop nearby is also very convenient.
