We are over at 2 Pawan Nagar on Batala Road. The name on the sign is Angel Blessed Gem & Jewellery Pvt. Ltd., which sounds a bit official, but we are just regular people working here. Batala Road is usually pretty active, so there is always something going on outside our windows. Inside, we have our displays and the benches where we look at the gems. We’ve been here for a while now. It’s a straightforward business. We don't spend money on big posters or radio spots. Most people just walk in because they live nearby or they're passing through Pawan Nagar. We look at a lot of stones every day. Some are bright, some are a bit duller, but they all need to be handled carefully. We do the work ourselves. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on small things. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a break. Other than that, we're just here from morning until the evening. We try to keep the place tidy, but it's a working shop, so there’s always a bit of dust from the tools. It’s just how it goes when you’re working with your hands. We like being part of the street here. It feels like home to us after all these years. There is not much more to it than that.
