Radhe Krishna Cotton Industries is out on Vasavad Road in Babra. If you’re driving through Amreli, you’ll see plenty of cotton because it’s a big part of life in this corner of Gujarat. Our place is basically a big warehouse and processing area where the raw cotton comes in from the fields. It gets very dusty, especially when the machines are running full tilt during the harvest season. You can see the white fluff floating in the air and sticking to everything, even our clothes. It’s a noisy environment with the hum of the equipment, but we’re used to it. We spend our days checking the piles of cotton and making sure the trucks are loaded properly for the trip out. The road outside can get pretty bumpy with all the heavy traffic, and the sun beats down on the corrugated roof, making it quite warm inside. We don't have a big office or anything fancy; mostly just a desk in the corner with a calendar and some old ledgers. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so everyone chips in where they can, whether it’s helping with the loading or just keeping the yard clear of debris. We’ve been at this for a long time on Vasavad Road, just handling the cotton that comes through our gates and helping out where we can.
