Shri Shyamsundari Gaushala Foundation

This foundation is set up in the village of Vanot, which is in Savarkundla, Amreli. We are located at the place of Himmatbhai Manjibhai Gediya. It is a very rural area, and things move a lot slower here than they do in the big cities. Shri Shyamsundari Gaushala Foundation is really about taking care of the cows and making sure the animals have what they need to stay healthy. We don't have a fancy office building with glass windows. It is mostly open land and some sheds where the work happens every day. Life in the village is simple. We wake up early when the sun comes up to start the chores. There is a lot of mud and hay around, so we don't wear nice clothes to work. Himmatbhai has lived here a long time and everyone in Vanot knows where the Gaushala is. We don't do much marketing or have big meetings. Usually, we just talk about the feed or the health of the cows while we are working. Sometimes people from the nearby towns come by to help out or just to see the animals and give a donation. It is a peaceful place, though it can be a lot of physical labor in the sun. We don't have a lot of modern equipment, so we do most things by hand. It feels good to be doing something useful for the community and the animals in this part of Gujarat. We stay busy year round.
