Patel Tea Packers

We are located on Railway Station Road, right near Gandhi Chowk. If you are standing at the chowk, you can usually hear the trains pulling in and out all day long. Patel Tea Packers has been at this spot for quite a while. It’s a convenient place for us because we are close to the transport links, but it’s also very noisy. Our building is mostly a big open space where we do all the packing. We have rows of tables where people sit and fill up the tea pouches. There’s always the sound of tape dispensers and cardboard boxes being moved around. The floor is concrete and usually has a thin layer of tea dust on it by the afternoon. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything. If someone wants to see us, they just walk into the main packing area. We have a small corner with a couple of chairs and a desk where we do the billing. It’s a very straightforward operation. The workers chat while they pack, and we usually have the radio playing in the background. Sometimes the dust makes us sneeze, but we’re used to it. When the weather is hot, we leave the big front doors open to get a breeze, even though it lets in all the street noise. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing near the station.
