Navjeevan Clinic

Over on Ligh House Road in Jafrabad, you can find the Navjeevan Clinic. It’s located in a spot where you can sometimes catch a bit of a breeze from the water if the wind is blowing the right way. The road itself is usually quite busy with people heading toward the coast or the local fish markets. Our clinic isn't very large, and it’s pretty easy to miss if you aren't looking for the small sign above the door. Inside, we have a few rows of plastic chairs for people to wait in. The walls have a few basic health charts tacked up, some of which are a little yellowed at the edges from the salty air. We keep a small radio in the corner that we play at a low volume just to have some background noise. The exam room is tucked in the back, separated by a heavy green curtain that slides on a metal rod. It’s a very practical space without any unnecessary decorations or fancy furniture. We spend our mornings getting the files ready and checking our stock of basic medicines. Many of our visitors are regulars who have lived in Jafrabad their whole lives. They know us well, and we know their families. It’s the kind of place where you don’t need an appointment most of the time; you just show up and wait your turn. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it works for the folks here.
