Our workshop is right here in Manakpura. If you walk down the street, you can usually hear the sawing and sanding before you even see the sign. The place is always covered in a thin layer of sawdust, no matter how much we sweep. We have wood planks leaning against the walls—teak, plywood, all sorts of things waiting to be turned into something else. There’s a heavy smell of varnish and wood glue in the air most days. It’s a small space, so we have to move things around a lot just to make room to work on a new table or a bed frame. We don't have a fancy display window. Usually, whatever we just finished is sitting near the front door waiting to be picked up by the customer. We use old tools that have been around for years, and they still work better than the new stuff sometimes. People come in with sketches on scraps of paper, and we sit on some stools to talk about what they need. It’s honest work, and our hands are usually stained with polish or paint by the end of the day. We don't have a website or anything like that; people just know we’re here in Manakpura because they see us working every day. It’s just a regular furniture shop where we focus on the wood and the tools we have to make things.
