Acme Sea Food

Acme Sea Food is located at Plot No. 1307 in the GIDC Estate. This is an industrial area where we process and pack seafood. It’s a busy place with a lot of heavy machinery and trucks moving in and out all day long. Inside our unit, it’s always cold because we have to keep everything fresh. We spend most of our time in rubber boots and heavy aprons, surrounded by crates of fish and ice. It’s a wet and messy job, and the smell of fish never really goes away, no matter how much we wash the floors. We aren't a fancy boutique shop; we are a working factory floor. We get the seafood in from the coast and then it’s a race to get it cleaned, sorted, and packed before it loses its quality. The work is physically demanding, lifting heavy boxes and standing on our feet for hours. We don't have a marketing department or a sales team. We just focus on the product and making sure it gets to the markets on time. Our office is just a small desk in the corner of the warehouse where we keep the logs and invoices. We’ve been here for several years, and we know most of the other business owners in the GIDC. It’s hard work, especially in the early mornings when the new catch arrives, but it’s what we do.
