Vyawahare Netralaya

Our eye clinic, Vyawahare Netralaya, is located right on V.m.v. Road. If you know the area, you know that the road can get pretty crowded during the middle of the day. We have a small sign outside so people can find us among all the other shops and buildings. Inside, it is usually much quieter than the street. We have the machines for checking eyes and a lot of different glasses frames on display in a glass case. I spend a good part of my morning wiping the dust off those cases because V.m.v. Road is always under some kind of construction or just has a lot of trucks passing by. We see all kinds of people, from little kids who need their first pair of glasses to older folks who are having trouble seeing the news. It’s a simple setup. We have a few benches for waiting and a desk where I keep the appointment book. I prefer the paper book over a computer because it never crashes. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a short break. It is a steady kind of life here. We don't have any big corporate rules or anything like that. We just open the doors and help whoever walks in with an eye problem. V.m.v. Road is a good place to be and we have gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood over the years.
