Unicon Engineers And Contractors is based in Amravati, specifically in the Shivraj area of Rukhmini Nagar. Our office is located in Vivekanand Colony, which is a fairly settled part of town. We spend most of our time looking at site plans or talking to the laborers about the day’s work. Construction is a messy business, so there is usually some mud or cement on the floor of our office. It’s not a place for expensive carpets. We have a few old computers and a big table where we spread out the blueprints. The sun in Amravati can be really harsh, so we try to get the outdoor inspections done before noon. People in the colony know us as the guys who are always busy with some project or another. It’s not always easy managing all the different parts of a building job. Sometimes the materials don't show up on time and we have to spend hours on the phone. We don't really have a big marketing department. People just see our signs at the work sites and give us a call. It’s a very practical way of living. We’ve lived in this city for years and we know how the local ground is. We just try to get the structures up and move on to the next one without too much fuss. Every day is a bit different depending on which stage the building is at. It's just how we live.
