Sharma Puriwala

Our shop, Sharma Puriwala, is located at Shop No. 1 on Ambadevi Road in Amravati. We are right by Jawahargate, which is a place most people around here know well. We’ve been serving puris and bhaji for a long time. It’s a small space, so we don't have much room for big groups, but people manage. The mornings are our busiest time because everyone wants a fresh breakfast before they go to work. We wake up very early to get the dough ready and start the frying. The oil has to be just right or the puris won't puff up. It’s hard work standing over the big kadai all day, especially in the summer heat here in Amravati. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls. Just the menu and some old photos. My father started this and now I’m the one looking after things. We don't do any big marketing. Our customers come because they’ve been eating here for years. Sometimes the line gets long and out onto the street near Jawahargate, but we try to move as fast as we can. It’s just a simple life running a food stall. We focus on making sure the food is hot and ready. That is pretty much all there is to it. We keep our heads down and do the work every day.
