Purnamai Textiles Development Association

Our group is the Purnamai Textiles Development Association. We are located at S. No. 154 in Chb Tongapurkural, which is over in Chandur Bazar. It’s a much more rural setting compared to the big cities like Mumbai, but there is a lot of heart in the work we do out here. We focus on textile development, which basically means we spend a lot of our time looking at how fabrics are made and how we can help the local trade in our area. It’s not a high-tech office by any means. It’s a practical, simple space where people come to talk and work on different projects. Sometimes the roads out here get a bit muddy and difficult during the monsoon season, making it a bit of a challenge to get to the site, but we still show up and do the work. We are just a bunch of local people who care about the textile scene here. We don't have a big marketing budget or any fancy brochures to hand out. We just talk to people face-to-face and get things done that way. It’s a slower pace of life in Chandur Bazar, but we stay busy enough with the daily tasks. There’s always someone stopping by the office to ask a question or show us some new work they've finished. We just take it one day at a time. It’s honest work and it feels right to be here.
