Malpani Dal & Flour Mill

You can find us over at F-23 in the MIDC area of Amravati. It is an industrial zone, so there is always the sound of machinery and trucks moving around. The mill is a busy place, especially during the harvest seasons when the grains start coming in. We spend a lot of time dealing with dust and the smell of fresh flour. It gets very hot in the shed, especially during the summer months in Maharashtra. We have been running Malpani Dal & Flour Mill here for a long time. Our floors are usually covered in a thin layer of white powder, no matter how much we sweep. It is hard work and the hours are long when there is a lot of milling to do. We don't have a fancy office; it’s just a small corner with a wooden desk and a ledger where we keep track of the bags. The workers here have been with us for years and we all just get on with the job. People from around Amravati know us for being in this particular MIDC plot. We don't do much advertising. The work speaks for itself when the bags are loaded onto the trucks. It’s a gritty, noisy environment but it is our livelihood and we are used to the rhythm of the machines. We stay focused on the daily grind and making sure the grain is processed properly before it leaves the gate.
