Our company, Akhatwada Agri And Livestock Development Farmer Producer Company Limited, is right in the middle of Akhatwada village. You can find us at House Number 112 in Ward Number 2. Being in Murtijapur Tq Teosa means we are surrounded by the very people we work with every day. It’s a farmer-run thing, so we don't do anything too fancy. We focus on agri and livestock development because that’s what the village depends on. Most mornings start with people dropping by the house to talk about their crops or their cows. We keep the books in a small room that serves as our office. It’s not a corporate headquarters, just a place in the ward where we meet. The village life dictates our schedule. When it’s harvest time, everything else takes a backseat. We are part of the local community here in Maharashtra. Our goal is just to keep the development side moving so farmers get a better deal. We handle the paperwork for the producer company and try to organize the sales together. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait to finish the computer work. It’s just how it is here. We are regular people, mostly farmers ourselves, trying to build something that lasts. There’s no marketing team here, just us at House 112 working through the daily chores of running a collective. It is hard work but we keep going.
