We have been running this brick kiln in Dhamarua Bazar for a while now. It is right near the Station Malipur area in Ambedkar Nagar District. Most days start early before the sun gets too hot because working with clay and fire is hard work when it is middle of the day. You can find us easily if you walk down from the station. The kiln takes up a lot of space and there is always smoke or dust around, which is just how it goes with making bricks. People from the nearby villages come by when they are building a new wall or a house. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a dusty yard with stacks of bricks everywhere you look. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it rains and the mud won't dry, but we just wait it out and start again when the ground is hard. My family has been around this area for a long time so everyone knows where the bhatta is. We spend most of our time making sure the fire stays at the right heat.
