Swastik Steel Mart is based at Pap; 15, which is right behind the Asb Company in the Additional MIDC area of Anand Nagar. If you are coming through Ambernath East, you’ll find us in that big industrial patch where all the factories are. We deal in steel, so the yard is always full of heavy beams, pipes, and plates. It’s a loud place, with the cranes moving things around and the sound of metal hitting metal. The office is just a small cabin at the front where we keep the invoices and the weighbridge records. It gets pretty hot under the tin roof in the afternoons. We started out with just a small truck and a few bundles of rebar, but we’ve grown a bit since then. We don't have any fancy marketing people. It’s just us and a few loaders who have been working with us for years. Ambernath can be a tough place to navigate with all the big lorries, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the MIDC. Most of our customers are regular builders from the surrounding towns who need steel for their construction sites. We try to keep the popular sizes in stock so nobody has to wait too long. It’s honest, heavy work, and we’re usually pretty tired by the time we lock up at night, but that’s just how it is in the steel trade.
