Fabricraft

Our place, Fabricraft, is located at C/8 MIDC in Anand Nagar. It’s a typical industrial unit in a row of many others. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we spend our money on the materials and the tools instead. Working with fabrics and whatever else comes through the door means there is always lint or scrap pieces on the floor. We try to keep it organized, but by Wednesday, the piles usually start to grow. It is a small team here, and we all end up doing a bit of everything. One day you might be cutting, and the next you are packing boxes for the truck. The MIDC area is always buzzing with activity, so there is never a dull moment. We have a small stove in the corner where we make tea for anyone who stops by. It is not a high-tech facility with robots or anything like that. It is mostly manual work and paying attention to the details. We have had the same neighbors for a long time, and we often borrow tools or help each other out with heavy lifting. It’s a community of workers. We don't have a big sign out front, just the number C/8 painted on the pillar. We just show up, do the labor, and head home when the sun goes down and the street lights finally flicker on.
