Deccan Sulphate

Our factory is out in MIDC Ambarnath, at plot 104/A. It’s a long drive if you’re coming from the city, but it’s where all the chemical work happens. We focus on sulphate products. It’s a lot of big tanks and pipes, and the guys have to be careful with the mixtures. The air out here in the industrial zone always smells a bit like chemicals, but that's just part of the job. We have been operating here for a good while. We aren't a huge corporation with a thousand employees; we’re a smaller group that knows how to handle the production process. The office is just a small room at the front of the main building where we keep the logs and take orders. Most of the time, the phone is ringing with people asking about delivery schedules. We try to keep things simple. We get the raw materials in, process them, and then get the sulphate ready for the trucks to pick up. It's physical work and sometimes the heat in the plant gets to be a lot, especially in the summer. But we have a good rhythm going. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We just do the work and make sure the barrels are filled correctly. Ambarnath is a tough place to work sometimes, but it’s where we belong. It's a lot of manual labor and checking gauges.
