Ram Kirana Store

Ram Kirana Store is located on the Main Road in Akbarpur, right in Ward No-12. We are situated quite close to Fruit Gali, which is a very busy part of the neighborhood. Being on the main road means there is always traffic going by, from rickshaws to trucks. I’ve been here for a long time, watching the buildings around me change. My shop is filled with everything from big tins of cooking oil to small sachets of shampoo. I try to keep a bit of everything because you never know what someone might need at the last minute. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, and I have to use a small wooden ladder to reach the top ones. It gets quite warm in the summer because the shop faces the sun in the afternoon, so I have a small fan that rattles a bit while it spins. The Fruit Gali nearby brings in a lot of people to this area, and many of them stop by my place to get their dry groceries after buying their fresh fruit. I spend a lot of time talking to the other shopkeepers on this block when business is slow. We usually share some tea in the evenings. The front of the shop has a bit of a step that people have to watch out for. It’s a hardworking life here in Akbarpur, and I’m just one part of it.
