Amber Yarn Traders

We’ve been running Amber Yarn Traders here in Tanda for a while now. The shop is located in Fattupatti, just a short walk from Adarsh School. If you live around here, you probably know the area. Mostly, we spend our days dealing with different types of yarn and talking to the folks who come in to buy for their looms. It gets busy during the morning hours when people are trying to get their supplies before starting the day's work. We try to keep a good variety of stock on hand because you never know what someone might need for a specific fabric. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to shuffle things around in the back room to make space. It’s a simple setup. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that, just rows of yarn and a desk where we handle the paperwork. Dealing with fibers and threads is what we know. The neighborhood knows us as the place near the school where the trucks pull up to unload. We’ve seen the seasons change from this spot many times. It's just honest work, keeping the local weavers supplied so they can keep their machines running. Sometimes the dust from the yarn gets everywhere, but that's just part of the job. We keep the doors open six days a week and usually someone is around to help out if you have questions about the counts or the colors we have in at the moment.
