Ayodhya Dham Jaggery Association

We've been over here at Singhpura Bazar for a while now. Most people know the Jai Raj spot. It's a busy place. We handle jaggery, mostly. It gets sticky and the work is hard, but it's what we do. The association started because we needed to keep things organized. Jaggery is one of those things that everyone needs in the kitchen but nobody thinks much about how it gets there. We spend our days checking the jaggery and making sure the blocks are solid. It's not a fancy office or anything. It’s just us working in the bazaar. Sometimes the weather makes it tough because humidity ruins the sugar, but we manage. You can find us right in the middle of the market noise. People come by and talk about the prices and the harvest. We try to keep things fair for everyone involved. It's not about making a huge splash, just keeping the association running. The smell of sweet cane is always around the shop. We like the work. It keeps us busy and connected to the land around Ayodhya. If you walk through the bazaar, you'll see the sacks piled up. It's a simple life, really. We don't have a big marketing team, just a bunch of us making sure the jaggery gets where it needs to go. We stay until the sun goes down most days to finish the packing.
