About Viking Garments – Fashion & Trends in Ambala
We are located on Hari Palace Road, which is a fairly easy place to find once you know the landmarks. The building isn't brand new, and the stairs are a bit creaky, but it serves us well enough for what we do. We handle a lot of different clothes here, mostly stuff that people wear every day. It’s a lot of cutting, sewing, and checking for loose threads. Sometimes the power goes out, and we all just sit around and wait for it to come back on, which is frustrating but part of life here. We aren't trying to be some huge international brand. We just want to make decent clothes that people can actually afford. My brother handles the accounts, and I look after the production side of things. We argue sometimes about the budget, but that’s just how it is with family businesses. The neighborhood has a lot of energy, with shops and food stalls everywhere. Lunchtime is usually the best part of the day because we all sit together and share whatever we brought from home. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. Most people just know us from around the area. It’s a simple operation, really. We just show up every morning, drink some chai, and get to work on the piles of fabric waiting for us. There is always something that needs to be finished before the day ends.
