Our spot is situated at the Xps Cargo Service in Vill-Moodi, right on Kesri Road. We are very close to National Highway No. 1, which makes it easy to spot if you are driving through Shahabad in the Kurukshetra area of Haryana. Being part of Transport Corporation Of India Ltd. means there are always trucks moving and people shifting things around. The office is basically a functional space where we sit and manage the logs. It’s not a very quiet place because the highway is right there, so you always hear the sound of traffic in the background. We have a small group of guys working here who know the routes like the back of their hands. Most days are spent looking at schedules and making sure things are where they need to be. The tea stall down the road is where we usually end up during breaks. It is a very down-to-earth environment. We don’t have much use for complicated systems; we just use what works and keep the records straight. The building is simple and has seen a lot of weather over the years. We deal with the heat in the summer and the fog in the winter, which is just how things go in this part of Haryana. People come and go, drivers stop by for a chat or to get their papers signed, and we just keep the wheels turning as best as we can every single day.
