The Palms

The Palms is located in Sector-14 of Panchkula, over in Alankar Apartments. We are at number 8. It’s a decent enough spot in Haryana, and the neighborhood is mostly residential and quiet, which I like. We aren't a big shop or anything; it’s more of a small operation run out of this apartment space. I usually start my day by checking the mail and seeing what needs to be handled first. The apartment has been turned into a bit of a workspace, so there are files and folders in places where they probably shouldn't be. My desk faces the window, so I get to see the people walking their dogs or kids heading to school while I work. Panchkula has a slower pace than Chandigarh, and that suits us just fine. Most of what we do involves a lot of coordination and keeping track of different tasks. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely working from a residential building, but then a neighbor will drop by or the delivery guy will stop for a chat. I try to keep things organized, though it feels like a losing battle most weeks. The light in the afternoon is really nice in this room, though it does get a bit warm. We just do our own thing here, keeping the business going without too much fuss. It's a practical way to work and it keeps the overhead low while we manage the daily grind.
