Sun Shine Industries

Sun Shine Industries is based at Plot No. 23- B in Govind Nagar. It is a straightforward industrial plot with a big metal gate that squeaks every time you open it. We do a lot of fabrication and assembly work here. The sun hits the roof of the shed early in the morning and stays there all day, making it pretty warm inside by noon. We have a few machines that make a lot of noise, so we mostly communicate with hand signals when things are running. There is a small office partitioned off in the corner with a glass window so the supervisor can see the floor. Most of our day is spent handling raw materials or loading finished goods onto the back of small tempos. Govind Nagar is full of similar units, so there is always the sound of hammers or saws from the neighbors. We have a water cooler near the entrance that is very popular during the summer months. The yard is mostly dirt and gravel, and we have some old barrels stacked up near the fence. We don't have a website or any of that, people just know us from being here on Plot 23- B. We start work at eight and usually head home by six. It is honest work and the guys here have been together a long time. The tea break at four is the highlight of the day.
