Our office is tucked behind the Kingfisher Hotel in Dhulkot Village. It is a bit of a trek to get here if you do not know the way, as you have to look for the Garg Tent House first. We are in office number 34/9, which is just a simple room with some desks and a couple of old computers. There is nothing very international about the look of the place, despite what the name might suggest to some people. We mostly deal with local trade and logistics from this small base. The walls are a plain color and we have some old calendars hanging up to keep track of the dates and shipments. Outside, you can hear the sounds of the village, like cows or the occasional tractor going by on the dirt road. It is a very different vibe from being in the middle of a big city with all the tall buildings. We get quite a few visitors who get lost looking for the hotel, and we end up giving them directions. The internet can be a bit slow sometimes when the weather is bad, but we make do with what we have. Most of our day is spent typing out emails or checking on shipments that are moving across the state. We keep a small electric kettle for making coffee when the mornings are chilly. It is a practical space for us to get our work done without many distractions.
