Ambala Cantt is a busy place because of the railway and all the transit, and we are right in the middle of it at House Number 809 in Dina Ki Mandi. If you’ve ever been to the Mandi, you know it’s crowded and there’s always something moving. Safexpress has this branch here because it makes sense for the transport routes. The office itself is pretty old-fashioned. We have wooden desks that have been here longer than some of the staff. It’s noisy outside with the carts and the people shouting, but you get used to it after a week or two. We spend our time checking in parcels and making sure the loading happens on time. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in logistics, so there are stacks of paper everywhere you look. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that click as they spin. The tea man comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a break and talk about the local news or the weather. It’s a tough job sometimes, especially when the trucks get stuck in traffic, but it’s what we do. We don't bother with fancy uniforms or anything like that. Just regular clothes and hard work. It’s not a glamorous spot, but it’s central and it works for what we need to get done every day. We stay open late quite often just to make sure the last truck gets dispatched properly.
