City Craze

City Craze is our small shop located at 5183/2 on D C Road in the Sadar Bazar area. Being in Sadar Bazar means it is almost always crowded and noisy, but that’s the way we like it. The shop is right on D C Road, so we see a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. We don't have any fancy displays or expensive lighting. We just put our things out where people can see them and we try to keep things organized on the shelves. It’s a lot of work to keep the dust off everything because the road is so close. We start early in the morning by sweeping the front and getting the stock ready. Most of our customers are locals who are just passing by while doing their daily shopping. We have a small counter where we handle all the transactions and talk to the people who come in. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We know the names of many of the people who walk through the door. Sometimes the traffic on D C Road gets so bad that people just stop in to wait for it to clear. We have a few benches near the back where we can sit for a minute when it isn't busy. It’s a simple life running a shop in such a busy market. We don't have big plans to expand or anything; we just like being part of the neighborhood.
