Working in the steel and iron business means things are usually heavy and a bit dirty. We have trucks coming in from the main roads all the time, bringing in raw materials or taking out finished stuff. The yard is usually full of activity. It gets really cold here in the winters, and we all huddle around whatever heat we can find during breaks. In the summer, it’s the opposite and the heat from the metal makes it even hotter. We are just a local team doing our bit. We don’t have a fancy marketing department or anything like that. We just talk to our customers directly and get things sorted out. Most of us live nearby, so we know the area well. It’s a lot of manual work and keeping track of weights and measures. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up, but we catch up eventually. We’ve been part of this landscape for a while now. It’s a tough business, but it’s what we know. We just keep the furnace going and the trucks moving as best as we can every single day.
