Rice Tech Engineers

We set up Rice Tech Engineers in the Shivaji Building quite some time ago. We’re located right across from the Harshrinath Temple on Nanhera Road, which is not far from NH-1. It’s a busy spot with people constantly coming and going from the temple throughout the day. Our work is mostly focused on the machinery used in rice processing and milling. It’s a very specific kind of engineering that we’ve learned over many years. We spend a lot of time looking at old blueprints or fixing broken parts that people bring in from their mills. The workshop always has that distinct smell of grease and metal that stays on your clothes. We aren't a big, fancy engineering firm with polished floors. We’re just a group of people who understand how these machines are supposed to run. If a mill stops working during the harvest, it’s a big problem for the owners, so we try to be as quick as we can. We have some old wooden desks and a lot of heavy tools scattered around the floor. Sometimes it gets really loud when we’re testing a motor or a belt. We like being near the highway because it makes it easier for people from the rural areas to reach us without getting lost. We don't do much in the way of marketing. Usually, word of mouth among the local mill owners is enough to keep us busy. It’s steady work and we take it seriously here in the Shivaji Building.
