About Punjabi Masale Dot Com – Food & Beverages in Ambala
Our shop is at D-89 on the Panchkula Kalka Road, right across from the Sector-21 Urban Estate. It is a busy stretch of road, especially with people driving up toward the hills. You can usually smell the spices before you even get inside. We spend our days grinding and mixing different masalas. It’s a dusty job and the spices can make you sneeze if you aren't careful, but we are used to it by now. We started this because we wanted to share the kind of flavors we grew up with at home. We don't use any big industrial machines that take the soul out of the food. It’s a small operation. We have bags of dried chilies and turmeric sitting around, waiting to be processed. The name "Dot Com" was something we added because we thought it sounded modern, but at heart, we are just a roadside spice shop. People often pull over their cars when they see our sign. They want something fresh that they can't get in a regular supermarket. We talk to them about how to use the spices and what goes best with what. It’s a nice way to meet travelers. The shop itself is pretty basic, with simple shelves and a counter where we weigh everything out. We just try to do a good job and keep the quality where it should be for every customer.
