Our place is in the Sarita Building, units 112 and 113, in Dahisar. We are right on the Ambala Chandigarh Road, which stays busy with long-distance trucks and buses passing through at all hours. The building is an older one, and our space is spread across two rooms that we’ve filled with shelves and old wooden desks. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the boxes stacked up. We mostly deal with trading and supply, so there is always someone counting inventory or checking a manifest. The windows look out onto the main road, and you can see the dust kicking up every time a big vehicle goes by. We’ve been here for a while, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we never seem to find the time to get it done. There’s a guy downstairs who sells really good samosas in the afternoon, so that’s usually our highlight of the day. We have a small staff, and we all know each other’s families by now. It’s not a high-pressure office, but we keep busy enough to stay off our phones. Sometimes the rain leaks in a bit near the window frame, so we have to put a bucket there. We just keep things moving, making sure the orders are packed and the paperwork is mostly in order before we head home to our families.
