Aman Leathers

You can find Aman Leathers over in Sunder Nagar, under the P. O. Kuldeep Nagar area. It is a bit tucked away, but once you get close, you can usually smell the hides. We have been working with leather here for a long time now. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, just some bricks and a heavy door. Inside, it is packed with rolls of material and big cutting tables. We don’t use a lot of fancy computerized machines; most of the work is done by hand with sharp blades and old sewing machines that have seen better days. It gets a bit dusty with all the scrap pieces on the floor. There are only a few of us who work here, so we all know each other’s habits. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things lively while we work. Some days are slow, and we just tidy up the shop, but other days we are rushing to get an order out before the post office closes. We don’t really do much advertising. People mostly find us through word of mouth or by just walking past. It is a simple life of measuring, cutting, and stitching. We take breaks when we can and usually share some snacks in the afternoon. It is just a small leather shop doing what it has always done in this neighborhood.
