You can find us at Shop Number 25 in the Haryana Motor Market. It’s right on Geeta Nagri Road in the industrial area. If you’ve ever been to a motor market, you know what it’s like—lots of grease, the smell of diesel, and people constantly hauling things around. We’ve been here for years, and our spot is right in the middle of all that action. We do crane work, which mostly means we help people move things they can’t lift themselves. Sometimes it’s a car that’s had a bad accident, other times it’s heavy machinery for one of the workshops nearby. The cranes are parked out back or they’re out on a job somewhere in the city. It’s a family-run thing, mostly just me and my brothers and a couple of hired hands. We learned everything we know from watching our dad do it. The office is small and usually has a few old chairs and a lot of spare parts lying around. It gets really hot in the summer under the tin roof, so we spend as much time as we can outside in the breeze. People come to us because we’ve been in this market a long time and they know our faces. We don’t do anything fancy, just show up with the crane and get the job done. It’s a loud, messy business but we like being our own bosses and helping the local drivers.
