Hindustan Army Store

Hindustan Army Store is right at Shop No. 1 & 2 in Phase - II of the Geeta Ashram Market. We’re on Lal Kurti Road, sitting right across from the MES Furniture Yard. If you know the area, you know it’s always got something going on. Our shop is filled with all sorts of gear, from uniforms and belts to heavy boots that take up a lot of room on the shelves. There’s a specific smell here, sort of like new fabric and leather mixed together. The shelves are high and sometimes we have to use a ladder to reach the stuff at the very top. Being near the furniture yard means there’s often trucks coming and going, so it stays pretty loud outside. Inside, we keep things as organized as we can, though sometimes boxes end up in the aisles when a new delivery comes in. We’ve got the two shop spaces joined up, so there's a bit more room to move around than some of the smaller stalls in Geeta Ashram Market. Customers come in looking for very specific items for their kits. We spend a lot of time checking sizes and making sure the labels match what people are asking for. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t do much in the way of decorating, it’s all just racks and counters. It’s been our daily spot on Lal Kurti Road for quite some time now, and we just keep at it.
